Biography
Tom Scriven is an established acoustic soloist based in Melbourne, with over 100 venues under his belt. His focus is on popular songs or 'crowd pleasers,' and he enjoys reimagining what's possible as a one-person act.
For instance, he employs live looping techniques, adding percussive guitar taps or beatboxing to create subtle drums behind the track. He also layers beautiful harmonies with himself as the backing singer.

These elements extend beyond the typical acoustic sound and make his performance unique. Tom creates these effects live in front of the audience, almost like a 'magic' show as the song structure materializes before their eyes.

Originally from a small town called Wymondham in the UK (population 18,000), Tom has come a long way since receiving a guitar for Christmas 15 years ago. Since that fateful day, he and his guitar have been inseparable.

Tom is entirely self-taught, progressing from private gigs for family to packed venues of 200+ people, including bars, wineries, and weddings. It's a dream come true for him, transitioning from being 'forced' to perform on nights out with friends to becoming a full-time musician. The amazing feedback he's received from listeners kept inspiring Tom to pursue his dream.

Tom's focus is on creating a personal and emotionally charged experience for the crowd. He engages the audience, often leading sing-alongs and getting people on their feet. He takes pride in setting himself apart from the typical crowd of acoustic artists. In saying this, there are often times where he is there to set the mood only, providing peaceful background listening.

With an Instagram audience of over 2400, he believes in fostering true partnerships with venues. Tom ensures that events are marketed to increase foot traffic and customer satisfaction, crafting unique experiences that people will remember.

The next year holds exciting prospects with a new EP on the horizon, titled 'Home.' This title references Tom's relocation to Australia seven years ago and the accompanying emotions.
"A completely unique performer, a band sound in one person. I have given him Residence across all 3 of my locations, my patrons love him."
Adrian Chong - Owner of Hopheads
"Savour the little things, you'll never know when you'll see the end. Pick your battles and chose who you share your time with carefully."
"What would you do if I stole you the sun? An all our dreams were unsung. I would walk to you for miles and miles, just to hear you say. My leather boots always walk me in your way."
Lyrics (Original Song) - Only You
Lyrics (Original Song) - Stole U the Sun
